A commission can be manually added to a policy. This can be useful if there are not many commissions paid from a carrier or the statement is not available in Excel. A map is not required to add a commission manually to a policy. Once the commssion is added, only the statement date and description can be edited. If the amount entered is incorrect, the statement must be deleted and added again with the correct amount. After the commission is added, it must be posted to the policy. Posting is the process of matching the commission to the policy.
