Auto-Update is a feature that automatically updates the carrier, product, effective date, and premium for a matched policy during the posting process. The Auto-Update selections are initially made when a map is created for the carrier statement. When a commission statement is imported, the Auto-Update fields from the commission statement will automatically update the fields for the policy. The selections can be changed at any time.
During a statement import, any commission that is matched to a policy will automatically update the policy fields that have been selected in the Auto-Update menu. If the commission is unmatched, the policy fields will revert back to the original data. Only the base policy fields will be updated. Riders, Other Comp and Policy Increases will not be updated.
If a statement has a pending commission, it can be manually matched to a policy. During the matching process, the Auto-Update fields can be manually changed. Click the PENDING button to search for a matching policy.
Once the policy has been located, click the PREVIEW button.
The Auto-Update selections can be changed for the selected policy by unchecking the box for any item that you do not want to be changed. You can also go back to the map from here and change the Auto-Update settings for all commissions moving forward.
