Step 3 - Add Maps

Step 3 - Add Maps

A Map is required to import a carrier commission statement. The map provides a diagram of which fields are imported from the commission statement. Once a map has been created, it can be used over again each month. Each carrier statement will require its own map. If a carrier has more than one statement, a map is required for each statement.

Create a Carrier Map

  1. Go to the Main Menu.
  2. Click Commissions.
  3. Click the Map icon .
  4. Click ADD MAP.
  5. Browse for a carrier commission statement or drag and drop it into the box.
  6. Select a Carrier.  If your statement has commissions from multiple carriers, select Multiple Carriers.
  7. Enter a name for the map.
  8. Enter the tab number in the statement that contains the commission data.  Tab number is left to right.  The first tab in the spreadsheet is number 1.
  9. Enter the row number in the statement containing the first row of commission data.  This is not the row with the column headings.  It's usually the row directly below the column headings.
  10. Click NEXT.
  11. Select Auto-Update option.  Auto-Update can update certain policy data when commissions are imported.  These selections can be changed later.
  12. Map the fields from your statement to the ones in AgencyComp.  If you selected Multiple Carriers in Step (5), make sure to identify the column in your statement that has the name of the Carrier for each policy.  Map as many optional fields as possible.  Many of the fields are included in reports and are also used to match commissions to policies.
  13. Click PREVIEW.
  14. Click SAVE MAP & RETURN.
