Medicare Advantage Import Template

The MA-PDP template is specific for Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans.  The fee paid set each year by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  Depending on when an insured enrolls, the commission can be 100% of the fee or a pro-rated amount.

Tips

  1. Enter the effective date of the current policy.
  2. The enrollment type will determine if the full commission is paid or a partial commission.  Select "N" if the client is New to Medicare.  No matter the effective date, 100% of the fee shown in the schedule will be payable with renewals beginning on January 1 the following year.  Select "P" if the client is Not New to Medicare.  In this case, a pro-rated portion of the renewal commission will be paid based on the number of months the insured was on the plan.  For example, if a policy has an 11/1/2022 effective date, and the insured was not new to Medicare, only 2/12 of the renewal fee is payable.
  3. Create a Comp Plan for the policy BEFORE YOU IMPORT and add the name here.  The name should be spelled exactly how it is in the application.
  4. Product - enter the name of the product as it appears in the commission statement.  This field is used to help match a commission to a policy.
  5. Type - this is the type of insurance sold.  An example is Life, Disability, Medicare, Group, Voluntary Benefits, etc...  There are pre-defined types already created in the application.  You can use them here, or create your own.
  6. Sub-Type - this is subset of types.  An example for a Medicare type is: Med Supp, Advantage, PDP etc... There are pre-defined sub-types already created in the application.  You can use them here, or create your own.
  7. To view the current types and sub-types:
    1. Go to the Main Menu.
    2. Click Data – Types & Sub-Types.
