Step 3 - Landmines

Step 3 - Landmines

Some commission statements include data on multiple tabs.  Make sure to identify the correct tab on the statement that holds the commission data.  Identify the first row of commission in the statement.  It's usually the first row under the column headings.

Enter the correct column for the Paid Date.  This is the date the policy paid the commission.  This date is used in many of the reports.  If there is no paid date column, click the box next to the field.  When you import a statement, you’re asked for a statement date.  The statement date entered will be the paid date for all commissions in the statement.

We recommend mapping as many fields as possible to improve commission matching and support the creation of new policies that are not already in the application.  Mapping optional fields helps populate reports and improves the system’s ability to match pending commissions that are not automatically linked during statement import.  Leave the Carrier field blank unless you are creating a map for a commission statement that contains multiple carriers.
